Kate Middleton and Prince William have always had a deep affection for animals. That applies to the entire Royal Family, however perhaps the most well-known are the corgi dogs that were the trademark of the late Queen Elizabeth.

It was difficult for William and Kate to decide on a name for their newborn kid. But in the process of picking, they found a solution. The Prince and Princess of Wales brought their dog, Lupo, along to assist them in selecting from the list of potential candidates, according to the Times.
After writing down every name that might possibly exist on scraps of paper and laying them out on their floor, they opened the door for Lupo and saw which piece of writing he approached. George was chosen by the English cocker spaniel, and the matter was resolved.
“Our beloved dog, Lupo, sadly passed away. For the past nine years, he has been the center of our family, and we shall miss him terribly,” William and Kate wrote on social media.
“When Lupo died, they were devastated,” an insider told the Daily Mail.
Orla, the dog of Prince William and Kate Middleton
The Wales family brought a new cocker spaniel puppy, Orla, into their lives shortly after saying goodbye to Lupo. James Middleton told OK!, “I’m really happy that they can enjoy and benefit from having a dog in their lives.” “I think they’re fortunate to have a dog in their lives.”
For a regal dog, Orla is an appropriate name. It means “golden princess” and is a common girl’s name in Ireland.
Orla is receiving the greatest care available at Adelaide Cottage, in addition to the fact that her name means princess. She actually gets to sleep in her owners’ bed.Lupo tragically died in 2020.

Prince William has demonstrated a fondness for animals. William divulged the secret of Orla’s sleeping arrangement when Louise Harland, whose dog adored the future king, had the opportunity to speak with him.
“[He] had a deep affection for my small dog,” Harland said to Hits Radio Cornwall. Jacks arrived and greeted him. He inquired what breed he was and said he was a cockerjack, which is a little bit of a strange combo because he has never encountered one of those breeds.
William also told her that Orla “loves cuddles,” the dog owner continued. “[He] said that his little dog sleeps on the bed with them at night, with him and Kate.”
