The epicenter was situated merely a few miles (4 kilometers) from Julian, a quaint mountain community housing approximately 1,500 inhabitants; however, the tremors were experienced as far away as Los Angeles, located 120 miles away.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department has indicated that they have not received any urgent reports of damage or injuries.
Residents received a notification five seconds prior to the earthquake’s occurrence. Marty Caswell from San Diego expressed on X, ‘I do not recall ever receiving a text alert before an earthquake. The alert arrived merely five seconds before my apartment began to tremble.’
